Finding dresses is going to be harder than it’s really made out to be. Me, and my girls, see, we don’t really like to wear dresses, and I know about half of us REALLY don’t feel confident enough to wear dresses.
Meeting with my girls this July to discuss styles, and colors, and I really want their input. I don’t want a big fancy schmancy wedding. I just want romantic and classy.
One of my friends came over yesterday, and showed me this website….and then told me her mom had given her her credit card. She told me, “mom said if you see a dress that you really love, she wants me to buy it for you.” See, there was a sale that was only going on for 10 more hours, and I’ve been having trouble finding the right dress. So we looked and looked, we found bits here and there that I liked, but none screamed…me…so…no dress yet.
But, her mother is def my fairy godmother. I appreciate it so much. I literally just about cried when she told me her mother would buy the dress.
Make-up bells: Giving a bell as a wedding gift is another Irish tradition. The chime of bells is said to keep evil spirits away and also remind the married couple of their wedding vows. A nice modern twist is to hand out tiny bells to your guests to ring as you ‘tie the knot’ or when you exit the church instead of throwing confetti.
